My professional work combines my expertise as an ecologist with extensive experience in leadership and management, and a passion for science communications. My experience includes leading conservation and restoration research and implementation; working with private landowners on working lands conservation, restoration, and management; science communications and outreach to lay and professional audiences; organizational development and management; and fundraising.
I am currently the Natural Resources Program Manager for The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission. In this position, I guide the natural resources stewardship of Washington's 125 parks covering over 200,000 acres throughout the state. I'm also an affiliate professor in the School of Environmental and Forest Sciences and the University Washington. Broadly speaking, I'm interested in issues applying ecological theory to the conservation and restoration of native ecosystems and am always interested in discussing potential collaborations!
